Our R&D activities

Over twenty years ago, the workshops acquired high-tech lasers, opening up new possibilities in engraving, cutting, and surface treatment. This expertise, patiently refined, now allows for a level of detail previously unattainable. More recently, our research has led to the development of lead-free enamels , meeting the strictest environmental requirements without compromising on quality.

Within this framework, our work also focuses on enameling techniques applied to different gold purities, from 2N to 5N . Studying the interactions between alloys, metal hue, thermal reactions, and the chromatic depth of enamels opens up a new field of exploration. These experiments allow us to develop novel visual effects.

In parallel, we are directing the development of our expertise towards fine jewelry combined with the decorative arts . This hybrid approach leads us to design pieces where jewelry-making techniques interact with rare artistic processes such as plique-à-jour, highlighting the craftsmanship, the materials, and the lengthy production process. A three-prong setting, offering a refined aesthetic and optimal showcasing of the stone, is employed.

The workshops also explore new creative hand-engraving techniques , combining relief, textures and depths, in order to enrich metal surfaces and open up new decorative possibilities.

With this in mind, Taos was born, a brand conceived as a space for free experimentation, where artisanal excellence, freedom of gesture and contemporary consciousness come together.
